The Victor J. Cassano, Sr. Health Center is operated by Grandview Medical
Center and fulfills two primary objectives: programs at the facility
advance Osteopathic medical graduate training and the services
provide a high level of medical care to those in the community
who are unable to afford health care.
A huge void in healthcare for the Dayton community was created
in 1999 with the closing of the St. Elizabeth Hopeland Family
Practice Center. Grandview Hospital took on the challenge to
fill the void with a multi-purpose facility that will advance
Osteopathic medical training and provide a high level of medical
care to those in the community who are unable to afford health
care. The goal was to create a facility where high-quality health
care and medical education go hand in hand.
With the help and hard work of many people in the Dayton community—and
generous donations to The Grandview Foundation—the Victor
J. Cassano, Sr. Health Center was conceived. In November 2002,
ground was broken for construction and the Center took a giant
step towards reality. With Dayton area residents, community and
state leaders, and hospital staff and administration in attendance,
the Cassano Groundbreaking Ceremony was a high point in a year
of very hard work by many dedicated people in our community.
The new, modern, 24,000 square foot facility opened its doors
on July 30, 2003 at 531 Edwin C. Moses Boulevard in Dayton,
Ohio. The facility is designed to maximize the functionality
of the
space and create an atmosphere that puts patients at ease and
enhances their comfort. The Center has 31 examination rooms,
comfortable waiting areas, a children’s play area, specialty
clinics, medical imaging and laboratory facilities, and a community
room with state-of-the-art audio visual capabilities for educational
programs.
The center provides top-quality services that extend far beyond
traditional community clinics. Patients who visit the Cassano
Health Center have access to primary care and specialty services,
including:
? Family Practice
? Pediatrics
? Obstetrics & Gynecology
? Internal Medicine
? Neurology
? Orthopedics
? Surgery
? Fiberoptic Expanded X-ray Services
? Grandview Laboratory Services
? Social Services
The Cassano Center operates in the Osteopathic tradition,
focusing on health and wellness training, health care maintenance,
and
helping those in need take a proactive approach to their personal
health care. In fact, two primary Osteopathic principles—improved
access to health care and the facilitation of wellness and prevention—are
at the core of the Cassano Center concept.
